The Ketchikan Gero Kanayama Exchange program started in 1986. It first began with teacher exchanges and then in 1987 student exchanges began. These annual exchanges have be going ever since! The exchange program originally was a part of the school district program and then in 1989, the Ketchikan Gero Kanayama Exchange Association was formed. KGKE is a non-profit organization run entirely by dedicated volunteers that are focused on keeping the program running well! |

From Kanayama to Ketchikan: Trip Complete! 12 students and 4 chaperones spent a total of 18 days in Tokyo, Gero, Kanayama, Hiroshima, Miyajima, Kyoto, and Osaka! |
